We take pride in designing, manufacturing and offering only the highest-quality products. Every Mountek product is carefully designed by trained engineers and undergoes rigorous testing before it ever enters the marketplace. The tremendous success of our nGroove Snap™, nGroove Grip™ and nGroove 6000g™ rests on each product’s effectiveness, safety and durability.

Products must be used correctly to ensure maximum performance, however. You’ll get the most out of your Mountek device, while protecting your vehicle and your digital device, by carefully following installation instructions and avoiding usage choices associated with the potential for damage.

Please read all product warnings before using your mount:

nGroove Snap, nGroove Grip and nGroove 6000g We know you’re eager to begin using our products, but never attempt to mount your digital device until your nGroove Snap, nGroove Grip or nGroove 6000g is firmly and correctly installed into your CD slot or dashboard panel.

If your Mountek product does not install firmly, do not proceed with mounting your digital device. Instead, contact the Mountek team for support with installation, or to learn how to exchange or return your mount. Although the nGroove Snap, nGroove Grip and nGroove 6000g are designed to snugly fit in most vehicles, it’s possible that your vehicle is not compatible with our product. We will gladly review photos of your car stereo and give you our honest opinion if the mount will fit. For review, please send photos to support@mountek.zendesk.com.

Mountek devices are designed to permit in-dock charging with your traditional battery charger. The American Automobile Association recommends that drivers travel with a fully charged device whenever possible, however, in case of emergency.

DO NOT attempt to install your Mountek device into a vehicle’s cassette deck. This could damage your cassette deck, your Mountek device and your digital device. We’re currently developing a cassette adapter—but until then, stick with a dashboard groove or CD slot for safe installation.

The nGroove Grip will not fit TomTom GPS units with a protruding rear speaker. Do not attempt to mount these products to the nGroove Grip.

Blades for the nGroove Snap, nGroove Grip and nGroove 6000g are designed to insert firmly into your CD slot without activating the CD player’s auto loader, but all CD players are made differently. Activating the CD player’s auto loader with the mount in place could result in damage to your stereo system, mount and device.

Eject CDs from your vehicle CD player before installing your Mountek device, whether it’s a single CD player or multi-disc changer. If you decide to listen to CDs when using our mount, do not eject the CDs with the mount in place. Failure to comply may cause permanent damage to your CD player, mount or digital device.

Some CD players have a rubber or cloth dust guard. Mountek products feature blade depths of 16mm or .63”. If the depth of your dust guard is shorter than that length, the mount may cause it to appear warped or wrinkled. Before removing mounts from the CD slot, you must completely loosen the blade’s tightening wheel. Otherwise, removing the mount could damage your dust guard.

DO NOT install your Mountek device where it will hinder or block your view. Do not install your nGroove Snap, nGroove Grip or nGroove 6000g in a location that would hinder the function of your vehicle airbag or other safety devices.

DO NOT install your Mountek device with excessive force, since this could damage the device or your vehicle. After successful installation, the mount should feel firm and securely in place. If you can remove the mount without first loosening the tightening wheel, it has either been installed improperly or it is not compatible with your CD slot.

If your Mountek device isn’t compatible with your vehicle, please contact us within 90 days to process a return.

Troubleshooting Tip: If you find that your nGroove Grip is loose (and it's causing your device to tilt downward) you can easily tighten the back of the ball hinge with a coin.

Failure to follow these safety instructions and warnings may result in a serious accident, personal injury and/or permanent damage to your vehicle. Mountek is not responsible for any issues arising from improper installation or failure to comply with these warnings, federal, state or local law.

Warnings Specific for the nGroove Snap

In addition to the instructions and warnings listed above, the nGroove Snap requires the following precautions.

The nGroove Snap relies on magnetic reinforcement to firmly secure your device to the mount. For this reason, extra precautions might be necessary to protect information stored on some digital devices. DO NOT attempt to mount devices that use hard disk drives, such as classic iPods. Data loss can result due to the nGroove Snap's magnetic field.

We designed the nGroove Snap to accommodate in-dock charging with your standard device charger. However, in some cases wireless charging may be impaired by the nGroove Snap’s magnetic field. We encourage all drivers to travel with spare battery chargers to make sure you stay safely connected and fully charged on the road.

In some cases, compass functions and navigation functions may be impaired by the nGroove Snap’s magnetic field. Individuals who rely on near field communication (NFC) for radio communication, including data exchange, may experience impaired function for this process when a device is docked on the nGroove Snap. Avoid placing the nGroove Snap metal badge directly over the NFC chip located on your device.

Mountek recommends direct metal-to-magnet contact for the strongest hold with your nGroove Snap. If your device won’t firmly mount, try placing the metal badge directly onto the back of your phone or phone case—not in between your phone and its case.

Smaller tablets, including the iPad Mini or Nexus 7, may be suitable for use with the nGroove Snap. However, direct metal-to-magnet contact is highly recommended. Before attempting to mount a tablet, ensure that the nGroove Snap is firmly installed into your vehicle’s CD player slot or dashboard groove.

Larger tablets or digital devices, including the full-size iPad or Galaxy Tab, are too heavy for use with the nGroove Snap. Mountek does not recommend using the nGroove Snap for such devices.

If your digital device slides or shifts after it is mounted, it may be too heavy to use with the nGroove Snap. Contact the Mountek team for information about exchanging the nGroove Snap for one of our other products that might be more suitable for your device.

Failure to follow these safety instructions and warnings may result in a serious accident, personal injury and/or permanent damage to your vehicle. Mountek is not responsible for any issues arising from improper installation or failure to comply with these warnings, federal, state or local law.
